The White Sapphire Collection

White Sapphires

Natural white sapphires from Sri Lanka. Clear, bright and cut by hand. White sapphire is the same mineral as blue sapphire, only without the colour. Every stone here is certified, and its treatment is stated on the listing.

The Stone

Why Choose a White Sapphire

The Same Gem as Blue

White sapphire is corundum, the mineral that also makes blue, pink and yellow sapphire. It rates 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, the hardest gemstone after diamond.

Made for Everyday Wear

That hardness suits a ring worn every day. A white sapphire resists scratches and keeps its polish for years.

A Natural Alternative to Diamond

White sapphire is a natural stone, mined in the ground like any other sapphire. Many buyers choose it for a clear stone with a softer, quieter sparkle than diamond.

Origin You Can Check

We buy white sapphires at the source in Sri Lanka, near Ratnapura. The certificate states origin, and each listing shows the stone as it is.

Treatment, Stated Plainly

Heat is the trade's standard finish for sapphire, and heated white sapphires are legitimate stones. Unheated ones are scarcer. Either way, the listing and the certificate say which.

Loose, Ready to Set

Every white sapphire is sold loose. Choose the stone first, then the setting. We can also source a white sapphire to your size and cut.

What is a white sapphire?

A white sapphire is a colourless to very pale sapphire. It is corundum, the same mineral as blue sapphire, with almost no colour-giving trace elements. It is natural, very hard, and often chosen as a clear stone for rings.

Is a white sapphire a good alternative to diamond?

For many buyers, yes. White sapphire is natural, hard enough for daily wear, and costs far less per carat. It looks softer than diamond, with less fire. Choose it for a quiet, clear stone, not for diamond's flash.

Are white sapphires heat treated?

Many are. Heat is the common finish for sapphire of every colour, and it is accepted when disclosed. Unheated white sapphires exist and are scarcer. Every Crestonne listing states the treatment, and the certificate confirms it.

Are Ceylon sapphires natural?

Yes. "Ceylon sapphire" describes sapphire originating from Sri Lanka; the term itself does not automatically mean that every stone is untreated. Ceylon sapphires can be natural and may or may not have undergone treatments such as heat treatment. Treatment status should be verified through appropriate gemological testing and disclosure.

Are Ceylon sapphires certified?

Any serious one should be, and ours all are. We use independent labs: TGL (GIA alumni), Guild or GIC. The report states what the stone is, whether it was treated and, where tested, its origin. If a seller claims Ceylon with no report, treat it as marketing.

Where can I buy a Ceylon sapphire?

From a specialist who shows certification and states treatment plainly. That could be Colombo or Ratnapura if you can travel, an auction house, or an origin-direct dealer like Crestonne. Every stone in our collection is certified, bought at the source, with its report number published.
