Unheated — its color is entirely the earth's own work, confirmed with no indications of heating on the laboratory report.
Cut in the emerald step-cut style — a deliberate choice that emphasises The Solano's exceptional clarity through long, open facets. Its canary yellow is saturated without veering toward orange, placing it in the upper tier of Ceylon yellows. At 4.17 carats and loupe clean, this stone was made to be set.
The emerald cut is the cut of confidence. Its long, parallel facets conceal nothing, rewarding only stones whose interiors can bear scrutiny — and The Solano's can. At loupe clean, the step-cut becomes a hall of mirrors rather than a window, returning the canary colour in clean, architectural flashes.
That the yellow is unheated is the quiet distinction here. Much Ceylon yellow sapphire owes its warmth to gentle heat; The Solano owes its to nothing but the ground it came from, a fact the GIA report sets down plainly. At over four carats, it has the presence of a centre stone and the discipline of a connoisseur's choice.
The Solano is offered loose, ready for a bezel or a step-cut three-stone setting. To understand where it sits among the island's yellows, read our guide to the yellow Ceylon sapphire, or see why the no-heat designation commands its premium in unheated versus heat-treated sapphire.
